The world around us is changing rapidly, posing new and complex challenges on social, economic and infrastructure fronts. The sustainability of all forms of life on our planet Earth largely depends on the choices we make, the decisions we take both at an individual level and collectively.
To address social, environmental, economic and infrastructural challenges, several development agendas have been adopted at local, regional, national, and global levels covering issues like hunger, poverty, inequality, climate change, conservation, security and sustainable living. Fortunately, the technology evolution has made it possible for the mankind to overcome these challenges, if governments, researchers and the larger civil society work in close coordination.
Geospatial technologies are a critical component of the digital ecosystem, as they provide the ‘location’ dimension to data and analytics, thereby enhancing the value of the solutions that these technologies provide. Through the Global Development Agenda unit, Geospatial Media aims to ensure that the development community, aid and donor agencies, and other invested stakeholders make appropriate and optimum use of geospatial information and technologies in achieving the development agendas.
Through the Global Development Agenda unit, Geospatial Media delivers rich content services, including print, online and video; offers research and consultancy services; and holds dedicated seminars and roundtable meetings for the global development organizations, multilateral agencies and aid and donor agencies.
