Paolo Minciacchi is Chief Executive Officer of e-GEOS and Geo Information LoB of
Telespazio since May 2020.
Born in Rome, Italy, in 1963, he graduated in Electronic Engineering at La Sapienza
University of Rome in 1989. In the following year he worked as a researcher at La
Sapienza Department of Electronics, conducting analysis on the effect of microwaves on cells.
In 1990 he joins Telespazio S.p.A. (joint-venture between Leonardo 67% and
Thales 33%), first as ESA DRS Project - WP Manager and in the following years holds many
positions in the management of several satellite missions such as ITALSAT, SAX, SICRAL
and EUTELSAT.
In 2000 he is appointed Head of Fucino Space Centre Engineering and Operation
Technical Services, being therefore in charge of ground station engineering, automation
and technical operational services. In 2002, as Head of Geo-information new
services development, he steps into the geo-information scenario to conduct market analysis
and find new business opportunities. In 2005 he takes on the position of Head
of Geo-Information Application Solutions, focusing on application solutions engineering,
development of innovative algorithms, implementation of operating platforms and value
added products operational production.
In 2007 he is appointed Executive from the Telespazio Board and Head of Programs &
Application solutions and systems, with responsibilities for development, implementation
and production of Geo-information products and services and e-GEOS S.p.A. business
plan preparation for company incorporation. Coinciding with the establishment of
e-GEOS S.p.A., an ASI (20%) / Telespazio (80%) company, in 2009 he steps
on as Head of Operational Planning, Industrial Management and Value Added Production at
the Company, dealing with operational planning & processes definition, Procurement,
Project Management and associated P&L and Cash-flow, Risk Management, value added
products engineering and operational production.
In March 2011 he joins Spaceopal (a joint venture by DLR Gesellschaft
für Raumfahrtanwendungen (GfR) mbH and Telespazio) as Technical Director and Member
of the Executive Committee with combined function of the Galileo WP6 and later GSOp
Deputy Project Manager. Starting from January, 2018 he takes on as Spaceopal’s
new Managing Director in the role of Chief Executing Officer (CEO).
